Cultivating Strength and Mindfulness

Move your body with purpose and intention.

For years, I attended yoga classes where I was simply guided into poses—asanas—without truly understanding what they were doing to my inner landscape. Breathwork was rarely explored, and I often left feeling disconnected, wondering if yoga just wasn’t for me. I wasn’t the most flexible, and watching teachers effortlessly move through poses sometimes made me feel like I didn’t belong.

Everything changed when I discovered Katonah Yoga. The language of Katonah is metaphor and analogy; identifying the body as the abode, exploring the body as one’s instrument, the mind as the musician and the breath as the melody. The power of analogy allows the individual to use life experiences to define the personal and understand the collective.

This practice transformed my perspective and made me fall in love with yoga—not as a performance, but as a deeply personal and powerful tool for change. It gave me a new way to understand my body, my mind, and the patterns I carry. Through this work, I found support for my mental health, tools to navigate anxiety, and a grounded way to move forward in life.

I became fascinated by the deeper roots of yoga and travelled to India, where I spent six months immersing myself in its origins. I completed over 400 hours of teacher training, studying Ashtanga, Hatha, Vinyasa, Meditation, and Yoga Philosophy with experienced gurus. There, I connected with the true essence of yoga through the 8 limbs as outlined by Patanjali—far beyond what is often taught in the Western world.

My approach to teaching is not about how flexible or strong you are. It’s about awareness.

Through breath and movement, I guide you to:

  • Break old cycles that no longer serve you and create new patterns

  • Identify what you’re holding onto—and learn to let go

  • Build stability so you can move forward with intention

  • Explore resistance as a gateway to growth

  • Navigate life’s polarities with awareness and compassion

Yoga is not linear—just like life. It’s a practice of observing, feeling, and evolving. Your body holds your story, and through consistent, intentional practice, you can begin to reshape your inner landscape.

This is the work I am here to share.
